The old classics are always going to be around and the instant transformation achieved by simply cutting in a fringe is unbelievable and can change your whole look!
Likewise a simple change of colour will do the same. Depending how brave you’re feeling… a lighter shade of blonde? Dramatic black? Or why not go for one of the funky pinks that seems to becoming more popular by the day? Not one for the faint hearted!
One of our personal favourites is the Modern Shag (and not just because the name makes us giggle!)

- MULLET – Believe it or not we’ve been seeing mullets everywhere lately. The modern-day version of the cut that defined the ’80s is a little more chilled, though. But we adore anything that’s got an 80’s feel so long live the Mullet say Elesse.
- Short, Swoopy Bob – Short bobs do require a decent degree of maintenance, but we’re still seeing cropped cuts like this trending right now. We like the blunt and bouncy version with a deep sweep. This can hit at the jaw or longest mid-neck depending on how brave you are and the texture and density of your hair.
- Big Chop – Be BOLD and chop it all off! The one thing that many clients are looking forward to doing is cutting off some hair along with most of 2020! , Whether it’s going from long lengths to a shag or even a pixie, people are ready to let it go.
- 70s Bangs – One look at some of the celebrities bangs and you’ll know the ’70s are back in a big way! Farrah Fawcett is probably the most well-known example of the ’70s bangs and to this day, she remains a beauty icon. The modern spin on this style is a bit less voluminous and feathered. You still have a good bit of texture, but it’s more of a loose wave.
- Modern Shag – No one is happier about the return of the shag than us! As huge 80’s fans its been one of our longstanding favorite hair trends. But this cut isn’t for anyone who is scared of layering. It requires a ton of layers, which help to create the texture for a cool, lived-in look.
- Chin-Length – Curled ends have always been huge, whether they’re flipped under or flipped up. Chin-length hair can be styled straight and structured, creating a sharp line, or tousled, textured, and playful. Our favorite part of this haircut is that it exposes the neck and collarbone.
- Heatless Texture – We’ve seen clients embracing their natural texture much more this year. As more and more people are working from home and social distancing, many are taking this time to focus on self-care and lay off heat-styling which your hair will LOVE you for!
